Bellarmine evacuates two buildings following reported bomb threat

Bomb Threat Evacuates Two Buildings at Bellarmine University

The peaceful campus of Bellarmine University in Louisville, Kentucky was disrupted Monday night as two buildings were evacuated due to an alleged bomb threat. The university quickly took action, posting on its Facebook page that the library and University Dining Hall were being evacuated just after 8:15 p.m. Students and faculty were urged to evacuate the buildings and follow directions from authorities.

Thankfully, the situation was resolved without incident as the “all clear” was given around 9:50 p.m. by the Louisville Metro Police Department after conducting a thorough sweep of the buildings and finding nothing. However, the unsettling event may be linked to recent controversy on campus.

An instructor at the university was placed on unpaid leave on Monday following remarks he made about the attempted assassination of former President Donald Trump over the weekend. This has sparked speculation that the bomb threat was connected to the ongoing investigation into the instructor’s comments.

The safety and security of the Bellarmine University community is of utmost importance, and officials are continuing to investigate the incident to ensure the campus remains a safe and welcoming environment for all. Stay tuned for updates on this developing story.
