Louisville Lands Top Recruit as ’25 EDGE C.J. May Commits to Cardinals

Louisville Football Program Lands Four-Star Recruit C.J. May for 2025 Cycle

The Louisville football program has scored a major victory in their 2025 recruiting efforts with the commitment of C.J. May, a highly sought-after four-star defensive end from Highland Home High School in Alabama. May announced his decision to join the Cardinals over top programs like Auburn, Syracuse, and Washington, as well as receiving offers from powerhouse schools like Clemson, Miami, and Penn State.

Originally committed to Notre Dame, May made the decision to decommit earlier this year, opening the door for Louisville to swoop in and secure his commitment. The 6-foot-4, 225-pound prospect is considered a top recruit in the 2025 class, ranking as high as No. 146 overall by 247Sports.

May’s impressive junior season at Highland Home showcased his skills on the field, with 54 total tackles, 10 tackles for loss, 7.5 sacks, and multiple turnovers. His commitment adds to Louisville’s strong recruiting class, which now includes 13 players for 2025, with May being the fourth defensive line commit and the seventh on the defensive side of the ball.

With May’s commitment, Louisville is poised to strengthen their team and make a statement in the upcoming seasons. Stay tuned for more updates on the Cardinals’ recruiting efforts and their future success on the field.
