Man and boy hospitalized after shooting incident at East Louisville swimming pool

Man and Boy Shot Near Swimming Pool in East Louisville, Police Investigating

The peace and tranquility of a Saturday night near a swimming pool in east Louisville was shattered when a man and a young boy were shot, according to Louisville Metro Police. The incident occurred around 6:45 p.m. at an apartment complex on Saxony Park Circle, just off Taylorsville Road east of Jeffersontown.

Police officers from the Seventh Division responded to the shooting and found a 10-year-old boy with a grazing bullet wound and a man who had also been shot. The boy was transported to Norton Children’s Hospital with non-life-threatening injuries, while the man was taken to UofL Hospital with similarly non-life-threatening injuries.

Authorities revealed that the boy was accompanied by a family member who sought help from emergency medical services. Detectives are now working to uncover the relationship between the two victims and the circumstances that led to the shooting. The motives behind the incident remain unknown.

The Non-Fatal Shooting Unit of the LMPD is actively investigating the case, but as of now, there are no identified suspects.
