Five People Shot in Russell Neighborhood in Louisville, Police Investigating
The Russell neighborhood in Louisville was shaken by a shooting incident that left five people injured on Friday night. Louisville Metro Police responded to a call about multiple people being shot in the 900 block of Esquire Alley, just west of Ninth Street and north of Broadway.
Upon arrival, officers found four individuals who had been shot and immediately began providing medical assistance and securing the area. Three women and a man were transported to UofL Hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. A fifth victim, a man involved in the same incident, was brought to Norton Healthcare Downtown before being transferred to UofL Hospital with similar injuries.
The Non-Fatal Shooting Unit of LMPD is currently investigating the incident, but as of now, there are no known suspects. Authorities are urging anyone with information to come forward by contacting the Crime Tip Hotline or using the online LMPD Crime Tip Portal.
