Texas A&M Baseball Coaching Staff Adds Jason Kelly and Caleb Longley
Texas A&M baseball head coach Michael Earley has made some key additions to his coaching staff, bringing in former Washington head coach Jason Kelly and Texas assistant Caleb Longley. These new hires bring a wealth of experience and expertise to the Aggies’ baseball program.
Kelly will serve as the associate head coach and will be responsible for overseeing the pitching staff. During his time at Washington, Kelly led the team to a 54-51-1 record and a NCAA Regional appearance in 2023. His coaching prowess was evident as he helped six players get drafted and four earn All-Pac-12 honors. With 11 seasons as a pitching coach under his belt, Kelly’s addition to the staff is sure to bolster the Aggies’ pitching staff.
Longley, who joins the staff as the recruiting coordinator and hitting coach, comes from the University of Texas where he helped the Longhorns achieve their highest home run totals in school history. His recruiting skills were on full display as he landed a top-ranked recruiting class in 2024. Earley praised Longley as one of the best hitting coaches he’s ever worked with, highlighting his impact on the program.
Will Fox will transition to an assistant coaching role, bringing with him five seasons of experience with the Aggies. His contributions have helped the team reach new heights, including two College World Series appearances and a historic run to the College World Series Finals in 2024.
Jason Hutchins will continue in his role as director of operations, a position he has held for 27 seasons. Hutchins’ organizational skills and dedication have been instrumental in the team’s success, with multiple College World Series trips, NCAA Tournament appearances, and conference titles to show for it.
The addition of Kelly and Longley, along with the continued presence of Fox and Hutchins, sets the stage for a promising season for the Texas A&M baseball team. Fans can expect a strong coaching staff to lead the Aggies to further success on the diamond.
