University of Louisville Coaches on Recruiting Trail at Adidas Boys 3SSB Palmetto Road Championships

University of Louisville basketball coach Pat Kelsey and assistant coach Thomas Carr were on the road in Rock Hill, South Carolina, for the Adidas Boys 3SSB Palmetto Road Championships. The coaches spent the day scouting potential prospects during the first day of the three-weekend live evaluation period.

Kelsey and Carr watched more than a dozen prospects throughout the day, starting with Indiana Elite’s 17s team, which includes top Kentucky player Malachi Moreno. They also observed standout performances from players like Mikel Brown, JJ Mandaquit, and Darren Peterson.

In addition to the University of Louisville coaches, other notable coaches in attendance included Mark Pope from Kentucky, as well as assistants from Indiana, Michigan State, Michigan, Ohio State, Alabama, and Kansas.

While Kelsey and Carr focused on the games in South Carolina, assistant coach Ronnie Hamilton was in Phoenix for the PUMA event, scouting potential targets like Chris Cenac and Eric Reibe. Assistant coach Brian Kloman was also busy at the Under Armour event in Georgia, as well as the NBA Academy Games in Atlanta.

The basketball recruitment season is in full swing, with the Nike Peach Jam finals set to begin in North Augusta, South Carolina, on Friday. With coaches from top programs across the country keeping a close eye on the talent, it’s an exciting time for high school basketball prospects hoping to make a name for themselves on the court.
