College Basketball Coaches Wrap Up First Live Evaluation Period with Recruiting Trips
University of Louisville Basketball Coaches Hit the Road for Recruiting Trail
NORTH AUGUSTA, S.C. – The University of Louisville basketball coaching staff was out in full force during the final day of the first live evaluation period of the month on Sunday. Head coach Pat Kelsey was a busy man, attending his third event in just four days.
Kelsey made his way to the Under Armour event in Cartersville, Ga., where he had his eye on Northridge, Calif., four-star shooting guard Mazi Mosley. While Mosley does not currently hold an offer from U of L, he is a Class of 2025 prospect that the coaching staff has been closely monitoring. Assistant coach Brian Kloman had previously watched Mosley at the same event on Thursday.
The 6-foot-5 Mosley, who recently announced his transfer to Montverde Academy in Florida, has garnered significant interest from top programs, including scholarship offers from schools like Kansas, Missouri, and LSU. He has already scheduled a visit to Iowa and is expected to visit LSU and Michigan in the near future.
Meanwhile, U of L assistant coaches Thomas Carr and Brian Kloman were in Rock Hill, S.C., for the Adidas 3SSB Palmetto Road Championship. A standout performance from ’26 target Ikenna Alozie helped lead Utah Prospects to the 17s title at the event.
Other U of L prospects also had strong showings on Sunday, including Tre Singleton, Mikel Brown, Kaden Magwood, and Nate Ament, who all made significant contributions for their respective teams.
Assistant coach Ronnie Hamilton, on the other hand, was in Augusta for the Nike Peach Jam, where he had the opportunity to scout top ’25 targets Shelton Henderson and Davion Hannah, both of whom are set to make official visits to U of L this fall.
With the recruiting trail heating up, the U of L coaching staff will have some tough decisions to make as they continue to evaluate and pursue top talent. The Peach Jam will run through next Sunday, but the coaches will have to wait until Friday evening before hitting the road again for recruiting purposes.
