Pitt Panthers Duo Bub Carrington and Blake Hinson Set to Shine in NBA Summer League
PITTSBURGH — The Pitt Panthers are making waves in the NBA Summer League as guards Bub Carrington and Blake Hinson gear up to showcase their skills against the best young talent in the league. The NBA Summer League, scheduled from July 12-22 in Las Vegas, offers a platform for younger players, rookies, second-year, and G-League players to make their mark in the league.
Carrington, who will be playing with the Washington Wizards, was acquired in a trade that sent Deni Avdija to the Portland Trail Blazers. The Wizards have four games lined up, starting with a matchup against the Atlanta Hawks on July 12 at 9:30 p.m. Eastern Time.
Hinson, on the other hand, joins the Los Angeles Lakers on a two-way contract, giving him the opportunity to play in both the NBA and the G-League. The Lakers will face tough competition, including the NBA Champions Boston Celtics on July 15 at 10:30 p.m. Eastern Time.
While Carrington and Hinson won’t go head-to-head in the Summer League, fans can catch them in action on nationally televised games. The Wizards and the Lakers are set to play against top teams on ESPN and NBA TV.
The Summer League culminates in the playoffs, with the top four teams moving to the semifinals on July 21 and the championship game on July 22. The remaining teams will compete in a fifth game to wrap up the event.
