Pitt Panthers Players Earn Recognition Heading into 2024 Season
The Pitt Panthers may have had a disappointing 2023 season, but that didn’t stop several players from earning recognition for their talent as they head into the 2024 season.
Seven Panthers were named to the Athlon Sports Preseason All-ACC team, including senior defensive back Donovan McMillon, junior running back Rodney Hammond, and senior wide receiver Konata Mumpfield. Other players recognized were redshirt senior offensive lineman Branson Taylor, redshirt senior defensive lineman Nate Matlack, and redshirt junior defensive back Javon McIntyre.
McMillon, a standout safety, transferred to Pitt from Florida before the 2023 season and made a significant impact. Hammond, who led the Panthers’ rushing attack in a challenging season, will look to build on his success. Mumpfield, the team’s top receiver last season, will be a key target in the new offensive scheme under coordinator Kade Bell.
Despite the team’s struggles, these players showcased their skills and earned well-deserved recognition. Fans can look forward to seeing them shine in the upcoming season. Follow Inside the Panthers for all the latest news, exclusive interviews, recruiting coverage, and more!
