Arrest Made in Connection to Murder in South Louisville

The quiet neighborhood of south Louisville was rocked by tragedy early Monday morning when a woman was shot and killed on Glimmer Way. The victim, who has not yet been identified, was found with a fatal gunshot wound to the head.

Stephanie Hill, a 32-year-old woman from Vine Grove, Kentucky, was arrested in connection to the shooting and charged with murder, robbery, tampering with physical evidence, and possession of a controlled substance. According to police, Hill was the only person with the victim at the time of the shooting and admitted to manipulating the firearm, leading to the victim’s death.

Hill was located nine hours after the shooting at a Circle K gas station on New Cut Road, where she was found in possession of the victim’s cell phone. She confessed to fleeing the scene after the shooting and attempted to evade police by throwing the gun and sleeping in the woods near the scene.

Additionally, Hill was found with suspected heroin when she was taken into custody. She is currently being held at the Louisville Metro Department of Corrections and is scheduled to be arraigned in court on Tuesday morning.

The Louisville Metro Police Department’s Homicide Unit is actively investigating the case. This tragic incident serves as a reminder of the importance of community safety and the diligent work of law enforcement in seeking justice for victims of violent crimes.
