Samsung Becomes Second Largest Tablet Brand in US in Q1 2024
Samsung has made a significant leap in the tablet market in the US, becoming the second largest brand in the first quarter of 2024. According to a report from Canalys, Samsung’s market share increased by 2% year-on-year to 18.5%, with the company selling 1.8 million Galaxy Tab devices during this period.
In comparison, Apple remains the market leader with 4.92 million iPad shipments, capturing over half of the US tablet market. However, Apple’s market share saw a decline of 8.8% compared to the previous year.
Other brands in the market, such as Amazon, TCL, and Microsoft, also saw fluctuations in their market share and sales figures during the first quarter of 2024.
Despite this success, Samsung is not expected to release new high-end tablets this year, with the next Galaxy Tab S10 likely to be unveiled in early 2025.
This news showcases Samsung’s continued growth in the tablet market and sets the stage for further competition among top brands in the industry.
