Government Announces 12 Recipients of Tech Hubs Program Funding
The Biden Administration’s Tech Hubs Program has taken a significant step forward with the announcement of the 12 recipients who will receive funding to advance critical technologies in various regions across the country. These Tech Hubs have been identified as key players in growing the economies of their communities and strengthening America’s global leadership in innovation.
Among the recipients are the Elevate Quantum Tech Hub in Colorado and New Mexico, focusing on quantum information technology, and the Headwaters Hub in Montana, specializing in smart photonic sensor systems. Other recipients include the Heartland BioWorks in Indiana for biomanufacturing, the NY SMART I-Corridor Tech Hub in New York for semiconductor manufacturing, and the Tulsa Hub for Equitable & Trustworthy Autonomy in Oklahoma for secure autonomous systems.
Deputy Commerce Secretary Don Graves emphasized the importance of the Tech Hubs program in expanding economic opportunities across the country. He stated, “The Tech Hubs program is a commitment to American economic prosperity and success. These 12 awardees embody the innovation and creativity that can be found nationwide, boosting U.S. manufacturing and bolstering US global competitiveness, bringing President Biden’s Investing In America agenda to the forefront.”
With a total estimated award amount of over $500 million distributed among the 12 Tech Hubs, the government’s investment in these cutting-edge technologies is expected to drive growth, create jobs, and enhance America’s position as a leader in critical industries. This initiative marks a significant milestone in the Biden Administration’s efforts to support innovation and economic development across the country.
