Exploring Loss and Creativity: ÅNGEL 004’s Journey Through Music and Art
Louisville-born music and performance artist ÅNGEL 004 is using their art to cope with the sale of their childhood home in Goshen. Inspired by their 27 years of memories in the house, ÅNGEL 004 wrote the song ÅLLSHOUSE, hoping to help their family find a buyer for the property.
After months on the market with no buyers, ÅNGEL 004 decided to release ÅLLSHOUSE on all music streaming platforms and created a music video for their YouTube channel. The song, inspired by a fantasy of a passerby purchasing the house on the spot, features a mix of hyperpop and electro lounge music with storytelling lyrics and an old school rap flow.
In an effort to be inclusive, the music video for ÅLLSHOUSE is American Sign Language (ASL) friendly, with lyrics translated by an ASL coach. The video, filmed just before ÅNGEL 004 moved away from home to start a West Coast tour, showcases the 6,800-square-foot house with stunning cinematography and drone footage.
Reflecting on the special energy of the home, ÅNGEL 004 shared some lore, including the property being struck by lightning multiple times and the original basement being a pit of snakes when their father bought the house. Despite the challenges, ÅNGEL 004 believes the house is waiting for the perfect buyer.
The home is still for sale and can be found on Zillow. Through their music and art, ÅNGEL 004 is not only processing their loss but also hoping to help their family move on from this chapter of their lives.
