Driver receives lengthy prison sentence for fatal accident in Old Louisville

Man sentenced to 20 years in prison for deadly crash in Old Louisville

The tragic incident that occurred in Old Louisville has resulted in a man being sentenced to two decades in prison. Alvaro Edgardo Manriquez pleaded guilty to two counts of murder and other charges after causing a deadly crash that took the lives of Kenneth Rhodes Jr. and his brother Jalen Davis Rhodes.

Manriquez, who had meth in his system at the time, ran a red light at Second and Hill Streets in a stolen car, leading to the fatal collision. As a result of his actions, he will serve 20 years in prison and is not eligible for probation. Additionally, he is required to complete an alcohol substance abuse education class as part of his sentence.
