Police: 3-year-old and man injured in California neighborhood shootings, taken to hospital

Investigation underway after child and man hospitalized in California neighborhood shootings

The Louisville Metro Police Department is currently investigating two related shootings in the California neighborhood that left a child and a man hospitalized with non-life-threatening injuries.

The incidents occurred around 9:30 p.m., with the first shooting taking place at S 17th and Gallagher streets, near Dr. J. Blaine Hudson Middle School. A 3-year-old child was taken to Norton Children’s Hospital with a gunshot wound, while a man was later transported to the same hospital with a gunshot wound as well.

The second shooting occurred just seven blocks north at S 18th and Dixie Highway. Police believe the two incidents are connected, but there are no suspects identified at this time.

The Louisville Metro Police Department’s Non-Fatal Shooting Unit is actively investigating the case. Stay tuned for more updates on this developing story.
